Kia ora whanau,
Friendly reminder that as we are under alert Level 3, we have decided to postpone our Talanoa until we are at Alert level 1.
Continue to stay connected with updates via our school website and for learning online Google meet links - www.wesleyprimary.school.nz
Friday 15th Feb
Kia ora e te whanau,
Thankyou again to the parents and caregivers who have responded to my post late last night regarding COVID19 Alert level 3 announcement. I met with some of our students with their kaiako online Google Meet and it was great to see their enthusiasm.
I hope your day went well but I am well aware that a wet indoor day can be quite hard for anyone. Tamariki do need the opportunity to get outside and away from a screen now and again.
Our tamariki should be able to connect with work to get on with while at home in your bubble via http://www.wesleyprimary.school.nz/classes.
We will be advising parents who need a hard learning pack, to pick up from school at a pre-arranged time which will be contactless, thankyou in advance for complying to the guidelines.
Today we had no children in attendance at school and had a limited number of staff on site. Wherever possible we followed the PM guidelines and had staff working from home.
Level 3 means
- Stay at home and work remotely if possible
- Schools and daycare only open to children of essential workers
- Gatherings restricted to 10 people
- Travel restrictions with borders around Auckland
- Public venues such as pools and playgrounds closed
Tomorrow we are available for children to attend school if their parent is an essential worker and they do not have a parent at home or working at home and they can’t be supervised at home by an appropriate person.
If you require your child to attend school on Tuesday or Wednesday this week please complete the online form and or contact us directly. This will enable our school to organise bubbles, classrooms and teachers.
If you or your children need any other support please me know, we are happy to help provide assistance at this time as I know it has been very sudden lockdown - l.reddy@wesleyprimary.school.nz or 021767661.

Kia ora koutou,
There have been three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Auckland.
As a result, the Government announced at 7pm that the whole of Auckland will move from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 3 for the next 72 hours from midnight tonight.
That means that where possible you should keep your children home from school for this period.
We will be open for those of you who have no other options but to send your children to school and we will have safety precautions in place to look after them in Room 2. In order to prepare our school to safely look after children please complete the survey below https://forms.gle/VZj42riQrvnFasrM9 or email me or call our school office on 09 620 9261 to inform us.
Although this is for a short period, at this time we are activating our distance learning plan tomorrow morning, as we did when we have been in previous lock downs. First and foremost we want to stay connected to you and your Tamariki.
COVID-19 continues to be a factor we need to consider, and I assure you we have a robust plan and will do everything we need to for your children and your wider family and whānau.
If the situation changes, we will be in touch again. Please contact us if you have any concerns or questions. Also visit our Website for updated COVID19 Health and Safety plans, http://www.wesleyprimary.school.nz/covid-19-updates
