Fear Factor

On July the 30th the Hoiho team played Fear Factor. We were put in teams and blindfolded. We had to try different jelly beans. They would either taste disgusting or delicious. Juzaiah tasted a red and orange jelly bean and Miss Bound said "it will taste like strawberry and banana or DEAD FISH!" His face scrunched up and twisted, he looked like he was going to vomit but he didn't. Siobhan had a black one and it was going to taste like chocolate pudding or skunk spray. She was smiling and doing a thumbs up. Can you guess which one she got?

Art Rotation

Wow! On Wednesday afternoons Room 4, Room 5 and Room 8 do an art rotation. Art rotation is when you are mixed up with other classes to get to know them. You go to different art areas like drama, dance, art and music.
First, we went to drama with Miss Grigg. In drama we had to act out the play The Gruffalo. We learned to use our facial expressions and different voices when we perform.
Next, we went to art with Miss Bound. We learned about symmetry and traced to create the other half of our animals. These are in the photos above.
BOOM! BOOM! BANG! Lastly, we had music with Mr To'oala. We learned to make beats with the drums. Some of us got to sing 'This is me'.
We love the art rotation and it is so fun, we hope we can do it next term!

Samoan Language Week

Samoa Language Week / Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa was held from Sunday 24 May to Saturday 30 May. The theme for this year is 'Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga' which in English means 'Prepare yourself a gift for your travels'. Hoiho created siapo art and and taught the sasa Samoan slap dance to the whole school through google hangouts due to level 2 restrictions. At Wesley Primary School we believe in celebrating diversity and culture.
